Costa Rica
A Country of Values, Priorities, and
Peace

Costa Rica deserves
to be better known, the
prevailing idea in Europe
and North America (the United States), as to the
Central American
Republics,
is that they are sunk in a state of somnolence and inertia,
from which nothing can come.
They are represented, as the scene of incessant
interior wars, and one imagines them, as constantly suffering, from
instability of government
and insecurity.

Nothing could be further from the truth, of these
kind of suppositions, for this little Country!

There are certain qualities
about Costa Rica
and its people, that are unavoidably true:

Peaceful. Democratic. They are a neutral country, between two
countries,
Panama and Nicaragua, known in the past, for their violent revolutions,
and
yet, Costa Rica has no military.
No Army.
Most Often, these
"revolutions" were caused by the United States
Government and Military and secret dark
forces, to disrupt
their countries, so they could take
over the "natural resources"
of these countries.
At
times, Costa Ricans are more European, than Latino.
Friendly. Educated and
predominantly middle class.
How do they do it?

That is a
question, all "other"
Countries
should be asking.

It is a Love for Peace,
Compassion,
Intelligence, and Understanding.

Perhaps that is
where Costa Rica
is, in the Mind.

A blessedly peaceful, even
pastoral, land.
A place where one can return, and sit, and simply
be.

In Central
America, at
the end of the 20th century, amidst an area
of regimes, strongmen, revolutions, dictatorships, coups, and
assassinations, we find a people of extraordinary normalcy, seemingly
nestled, in a lyrical country of
magnificent, diverse topography
and
"Diverse life forms", which they also cherish.

There is something about this country, something
in the land that lends itself to
the viewpoint that Costa Rica
is a most beautiful, intrinsically
safe place:
A sanctuary of the mind...
Costa Rica should
be the "Envy" of all nations.
