Essentia Restaurant, specialized in Gourmet fussion, with flavors from
all over the world, mixing and creating the most original and exquisite tastes. Essentially, what you deserve.

Tipico Bar with outside dining as well, excellent grilled meats and Pescado
Entero... chalupas!   New Exciting Menu!   Great place to meet with friends
in the afternoon for food and drinks!  Relaxing atmosphere. 
 

Open dining and cocktails, fresh air, lively atmosphere and music, very tasty Southwestern and Mexican Food, different from Tico food, nice variety of
dishes.  Pretty Cocktail Waitresses.. Meet new people, favorite haunt of
"Gringos" and Ticos alike. Fun mixed ambiance!  Great Parties & Fiestas!  Sometimes Weekend Musicians  will surprise you...  with Southern Texas
Jazz.
    

In a very old adobe house with thick white walls, that many claim are
bewitched, this peña (friends meeting place) welcomes its guests.
Owned by two members of the traditional and very well-known cultural
music group Cantares, it has a unique Costa Rican décor and atmosphere,
including coffee sacks and oxcarts. The menu is typical Costa Rican.
Friday nights, Cantares performs, and on Sundays, at lunchtime, there
are special activities for children.
 

Beautiful View of the Valley-cool breezes, grilled meats, casadas,
excellent Tico food!  Watch Cabayeros ride the mountain!  Enjoy
cocktails and Live Music...  mostly on the weekends.  Open dining,
relaxed atmosphere with a touch of romance!
 

Although here you will not find "gauchos" riding horses, drinking "mate,"
or cooking huge steaks over open charcoal pits, this place offers a
variety of activities all in one place. The restaurant features a menu
that ranges from light entrées and burgers to steak Argentinean style.

There is also an open patio that presents live concerts of local rock
groups, and a disco with the latest musical hits. On this Patagonia
you do not need to ride for endless hours to enjoy a bit of everything!
 

Within the exquisite Mediterranean architecture of the small Hotel Alta,
where the warm terracotta thick walls and forged iron conspire in a
tower-like structure that overlooks the splendid and fertile Santa Ana
Valley, this restaurant breathes sober elegance and savoir-faire.

The menu is different for lunch and dinner; lunch is mainly focused on
light meals including sandwiches and hamburgers. For that special treat
you deserve from time to time, La Luz shines on top of the Doves Hill.

Nestled in a hidden alcove - in the middle of downtown... is a surprising
"Orchid Garden", when you walk into the Jardin de Orchidea, you are
surrounded by beautiful, live orchids, in a tranquil, classy atmosphere. 

The food is excellent, with a cute little bar...  the food is served sizzling
on platters right at your table, and the service is sharp!  Enjoy wine or a
cocktail with your meal.  Very reasonable prices and a real getaway from
the hustle and bustle on the street outside...  like a little paradise.
 

La Mansarda Bar & Restaurant - 25 metes Sur de la Cathedral and

Nice little, open balcony - to enjoy the views and people watch... 
Specialize in Seafood and Tico food, nice place to stop and enjoy
lunch while shopping in Alajuela, relaxed atmosphere and very good
service.  Enjoy Beer & Cocktails..  Inexpensive.
 

This is a bar and restaurant that offers traditional food for very reasonable
prices. Dishes include fried plantains, beans, chicken, beef and various
rice based recipes. From the windows of the restaurant, you can enjoy
a pleasant view of the Parque Juan Santamaría. The atmosphere is very
relaxed and it is easy to spend a few hours over a coffee here. There are
also a number of vegetarian options, mostly involving eggs. Here, you can
also enjoy a well-chilled beer with a little lime.
 

Although Costa Rica does not have a "wine culture," much of the
typical foods include barbecued meat cuts, chicken and pork.
Additionally, these foods, including good, tender, juicy steak, deserve
a great wine to go along with it!   This restaurant offers a good selection
of imported wines. It is a great place to go when visiting the Poas volcano. Additionally, they claim that all their food is organic. Steak & Barbecue,
organic foods.
 

If you are in Alajuela, and you want to take a break from your travels,
this restaurant is a great place to stop and sample some local sandwiches
and foods. Conveniently located across from the south side of the Parque
Central, this is a simple restaurant where you can get a delicious
home-style meal at a good price. Their various tasty sandwiches cost
about 190 and are an excellent choice for a quick and inexpensive meal
during the day.
 

A wonderful buffet is offered on Sundays with a wide selection of dishes,
so you can try a little of everything. Breakfast is served at 6am to please
the "early birds."   This restaurant is located at the Hotel Aeropuerto.
 

Far away from the noise and congestion of the city, in the Hotel Martino
Spa, this restaurant waits for its guests, with tables dressed in white
and surrounded by the warmth of dark wood. A large terrace with iron
and glass furniture overlooks a beautiful and exotic garden, and the pool
provides an option to those who prefer eating al fresco. The menu is a
combination of international cuisine focused on Italian specialties.
For gourmet dining in a tranquil and warm atmosphere, Le Gourmet
is a good option.
 

Evoking the passion and tradition of the Argentinean Pampas cuddled in
the woods of an old house with a scent of age, coal and roast, La Casa
Restaurant invites you to gather with old friends or new dates. A
melancholic and nostalgic tango, or Piazzolla's accordion in the
background carries the soul of the audience to remote places that taste
like wine and "mate."  The Churrasco, the Bife de Chorizo and the
Parrillada all seem to join on your behalf while they roast to a perfect
medium rare, just waiting to satiate the appetite of the crowd.
 

Therefore, if you are curious to find out what this country offers in the
best of its traditional cuisine at a moderate price, you can visit this
restaurant. They do not sell alcoholic beverages, but have very good
natural juices available.
 

Opens noon till 2:00am, beautiful views of the valley.  Wide variety of
Tico food and cocktails.  Friendly atmosphere, indoor-outdoor dining.
Wed - Karaoke - Frequent live music on weekends - no cover.
